Bird Watching on the Greenbrier River Trail

List of birds seen on September 24th 2002 at about 6 pm from the Current deck:

Warblers

Others spotted included Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, Eastern Bluebird, Wood Duck and Cooper's Hawk. The guest who noted these birds commented that even though he was biking, not birding on this trip, he was glad to have brought his binoculars, as the time on our deck was his best birdwatching of the season!

This is in addition to the usual cast of characters at the feeder. In the spring, we have seen Red-headed woodpeckers, a Yellow-crowned Night Heron, and Golden and Bald Eagles. White-crowned sparrows are here all winter, and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and Evening Grosbeaks are often seen in winter.
